この商品に使用されている素材は"人工皮革"と呼ばれる合成皮革の一種で、より本革に近い質感と耐久性を追求した特殊素材です。
主にソファーや車のシート、財布、ランドセルなどに使用され、強度や軽さ、耐水性が求められるプロダクトで活躍しています。

一口に革製品と言っても、表面をポリウレタンで加工しているものが多く、それらと同等の耐久年数と強度、質感を備えながら、ケアや管理の手軽さと軽さ、製造過程で端材が出にくいエコロジカルな観点からnimnilでは人工皮革に着目しました。

今回選んだ人工皮革は、レザーの繊維を再現するため、超極細状のナイロンやポリエステル繊維を立体的に絡み合わせることでコラーゲン層を再現したサラサラした手触りの肉厚な不織生地に、ポリウレタンを浸みこませてコーティングしたものになります。
レザー内部の繊維を再現することで、より本革に近い質感、弾力等を実感頂けます。
